Meet our staff!
My name is Debbie Harper and I teach the Transitional Kindergarten class at TCC.
I grew up in Pennsylvania with my three sisters. I have lived in South Carolina, Virginia, California, and Texas. We moved to Austin in 2000 and I can’t imagine living anywhere else! My son Brady and my daughter Kira are both in middle school. They keep me very, very busy! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, swimming, going to the movies, and watching TV with my family. This will be my 8th year teaching at Tarrytown Children’s Center (the best preschool in Austin, Texas). I love my job and look forward to each and every day I get to spend with your children.
I believe that an excellent learning experience is built with a collaborative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My goal is to provide a productive, creative and enriching experience for all children in which they feel safe, comfortable, and confident.
My name is Viviana Pastor and I am the Pre-K teacher at TCC. I first started working at TCC in 2002.
I was born in Lima, Peru and I’ve been living in the USA since 1996. I have been married for the last 22 years and I have two children, Alonso and Viera. Before I came to the US, I worked in tourism for 12 years, and I still enjoy planning trips for family and friends. I have been working on and off at TCC for almost seventeen years. This is my second year to be the Lead Teacher in the PreK class.I have taught Spanish at TCC for three years. All my extended family lives in Peru, so if you don’t see me at school it is probably because I am visiting them.
I enjoy sharing different cultures, languages and traditions with my students. My husband Javier is a teacher at St.Andrew’s. We have two amazing children. My daughter Viera, is a a busy second grader. My son Alonzo, is a sophomore at Texas A&M.
My name is Sarah Lancaster. I have been a member of the TCC school family since the Fall of 2015. I am excited to be the Assistant teacher in the Pre K class.
I have always loved working with children and have been employed in the childcare industry since 2007, including infants through age 13. I love spending time in the classroom with children and my favorite times of the day include arts and crafts and story time.
I recently completed a Masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where I focused on expanding my understanding of the church and how churches can better connect with and serve children and their families. My educational background also includes focuses on Elementary Education and American History.
As a life-long Austinite, I still love exploring the city and surrounding Hill County region, attending performing arts events, wine tasting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
My name is Myra Jones. I am the Lead Teacher in the Threes’ class. I am certified in Early Childhood education that I received through Austin Community College. Along with that certification, I have 20 years of experience caring for and teaching young children. I have had the privilege to attend the Conscious Discipline Conference offered by Dr. Becky Bailey, PhD. in Orlando, Florida.
My husband, John Michael Jones, myself and my three children, Michael, John Marcus and Kimberley, have lived in Austin since 1981. Over the years our family has extended to include 6 beautiful grandchildren.
My objective is to extend the very best care possible to your child. I strive to provide an environment that is nurturing and that develops a strong sense of self-worth. My purpose is to guide children with a range of activities and experiences. I love helping kids reach their potential.
My name is Sally Condra. I am the director at Tarrytown Children’s Center.
I am a Tarrytown girl, myself. I went to Casis, O. Henry and Austin High. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Education Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in reading from Texas A&M University. I have a Master’s in Educational Administration from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State). I am a certified public school principal. Before coming to TCC, I taught 1st, 3rd, 5th and Elementary PE in the public school system in Round Rock and Orlando, Florida. I have attended both the Conscious Discipline Summer Institute and Advanced Institute and am working toward becoming a certified CD trainer.
I have been at TCC going on 25 years. Except for being a mother, this is the greatest job on Earth. Being around this dedicated staff and such amazing little people so fresh from God is an educator’s dream. It is an incredible opportunity to share this wonderful time in a family’s journey. The staff, parents and students at TCC are truly a school family.
I am so blessed to be married to Phil Condra for 30 years. We have three amazing children. As they reach adulthood, I am so grateful that they were able to start out at this very special school.
I like to travel, read, hike and go to the theater!
My name is Rose and I’m the Assistant Teacher in the Two’s class.
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and received my Bachelor’s of Arts from Southwest Texas State University (before it was Texas State University). I have been a part of the Tarrytown family for 7 years – first as a grandma dropping off Lola (now 8) and Emme (now 5) and am now as a teacher’s aide. My favorite subject to teach is reading.
I have been married to my husband for 48 years and we have two children, Ed who works with Abbott Cardiology, and Laura who works for Eli Lily.
A few of my favorite hobbies include reading, traveling and crossword puzzles!

My name is Cathy Eckhoff and I teach Music.
I was born in Dallas, TX. I am one of six children. My family moved to Austin when I was six years old. Strangely enough, I hated school and ran away from 1st grade for about a week! I graduated from High School and College here in Austin. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 31 years! We have three beautiful children: Christen, Collin and Cason. I also have two adorable dogs!
I have been teaching off and on since 1984. I graduated with a Child Development Degree, knowing full well teaching was my “true calling”. I’ve worked in other private religious schools and Head Start Programs. I worked at TCC from 1990-1994. I took a break from teaching to raise our three children and returned for my second round nine years ago, so I have been at TCC for a total of 13 years. I was raised at Tarrytown Church, and was a member for many years. My parents are still members of the church today!
I have taught in the Two-Year-Old, Three-Year-Old, and Pre K Classes but by far, I love teaching the Pre K Class. It’s my favorite. I also, love, love, LOVE teaching music to the Three-Year-Old Class, Pre K Class, and TK Class.
I like to Garden, play my guitar, go to movies, play cards, listen to music, read literature, swim, create my own cards and make jewelry. I also love to go to museums, and travel.
My name is Alesha Marburger and I’m the Assistant Teacher in the Three’s class.
I grew up in Austin and have lived here all my life. I graduated from McCallum High School and attended Austin Community College.
I started teaching about 9 years ago, have been at Tarrytown for 2 years now and have loved every minute of it!
I have an 11 year old son who loves to play baseball (I’m his biggest cheerleader) and my significant other and I have been together for almost 10 years.
Some of my favorite hobbies are volunteering with Rodeo Austin every year in March and watching my son play ball!
My name is Debbie Taylor and I teach in the Transitional Kindergarten class.
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and Have been married to my high school sweetheart, Corey, for 34 years.We have two children, our son Aubry who is 29 and our daughter Courtney who is 32. She is married to Nick Henry and they have the most amazing son, Blake who is now 6 – he is a recent Tarrytown Children’s Center graduate.
I earned my CDA credentials in 2009 and I love to teach 4 and 5 year olds.
The most amazing thing about me is being a grandma. Teaching at TCC has allowed me to watch my grandson Blake grow up. He is now a very loving, respectful and confident Kindergartener! I believe that the years he spent at TCC played a large part in this.
My name is Mary Potter and I am the lead teacher for the Babies’ Class.
I grew up in Northeast Maryland and am one of six children. I attended Eastern Mennonite College my freshman year and then transferred to James Madison University in Virginia where I studied Early Childhood Education.
I have been working in a preschool setting since 1986. Before I was at Tarrytown, I was at WAYA in their Developmental Mornings program. I then came to Tarrytown and have loved every minute of it. These precious little ones energize me everyday.
I am married with four children with two still at home. I enjoy walking and being outside as well as listening and dancing to upbeat, fun, inspirational music!
